Draped in an ivory chanderi dhoti skirt corseted gown, Bhatt stunned in custom Tarun Tahiliani. Blending traditional elements with a contemporary silhouette, Alia Bhatt revived the tradition of heritage dressing at the Cannes. The corseted gown was embroidered with lace, matching her vintage lace umbrella and intricately designed with gold accents. Personifying an angel like look, she paired the plunging gown with minimalistic yet striking traditional jewellery such as a haathphool, nath and ear clips along with a payal. The ensemble blended vintage Hollywood glamour with traditional dressing, conveying the artistry of Indian couture.

Bhatt proved that an airport look does not excess to make an impact. Showing up in an all black tailored look redfined power dressing, blending elegance with structure. The bold, slight- puff sleeved, buttoned up jacket adds a certain vintage flair which is balanced with black capri pants that radiate modern athleisure princess. Paired with a Gucci tote bag, oval shades and black point heels, the outfit channels understated luxury without trying too hard. What makes the look stand out is its restraint – clean lines, minimal styling, and effortless confidence. It is corporate chic softened with femininity, the kind of outfit that feels timeless rather than trend-driven.

Bhatt embodied the French Riviera with a Yash Patil customised ballgown as a handpainted homage to the beautiful landscape. With a 1950’s inspired silhouette, the structured bodice and flowing skirt, it had organza, tulle and consisted of all the drama. Literaly deriving it’s print from a painting, Basuri Chokshi haindpainted the dress, deriving inspiration from the Riviera’s coastlines, lavender fields and the beautiful sky which all met, blending craftsmanship with style. Paired with minimalistic Chopard yellow diamond studs and Manolo Blahnik shoes, it captured the essence of a sunlit evening at Cannes.

In a romantic, dramatic  look, Bhatt echoed the spirit of quiet luxury in blush pink, dress by Tamara Ralph at the red carpet of Cannes. With a plunging, sweetheart neckline, the dress was a bodycon dress, flowing through the end, facilitating movement and creating a liquid precision. What transformed the look from beautiful to cinematic, however, was the ethereal chiffon drape attached at the arms. It floated behind her like a pastel cloud, creating motion in every photograph and giving the gown a dreamlike sense of theatre. The jewellery by Amrapali Jewels introduced old-world glamour through rare pink coral stones that sat almost like part of the neckline, enhancing rather than interrupting the visual flow.
The French Riviera Didn’t Know What Was Coming
With breathtakingly distinct looks, Bhatt arrived at Cannes 2026 like a cinematic dream, commanding every red carpet moment with elegance, power, and undeniable presence. From reviving the richness of heritage couture to redefining contemporary black-tie glamour, each appearance felt like a fashion spectacle of its own.
